At the Intersection of Science & Mystery

You may undress to your comfort level and remain securely draped, or you may choose to stay fully clothed. Nearly all of the work can be adapted through clothing. For some people, a sports bra or fitted athletic top with flexible shorts offers a comfortable middle ground. This allows freedom of movement while still providing access for skin-to-skin contact when it would be helpful.Clothing also gives us more freedom to explore different positions — from deeply supported rest on the table to more active, yoga-inspired shapes that gently bring the tissue toward its comfortable end range. This allows us to work with a different kind of depth through positioning and movement rather than pressure alone. Whatever you choose, your comfort and personal preference come first.

Not at all. You are welcome to talk, rest quietly, or drift off to sleep. I may occasionally check in, but once the work begins, I generally allow conversation to fall away so I can focus on listening to the subtle changes taking place in your body. If conversation is what helps you feel comfortable and settle, however, there is always room for it. You never need to force yourself to be quiet. Often, the work deepens when we can both enter a shared, receptive stillness — that liminal space between wakefulness and rest — where I can listen and you can simply notice, without needing to analyze or do anything.

You might notice warmth, tingling, softening, gentle movement, emotional shifts, deep relaxation — or nothing dramatic at all. Afterward, you may feel rested, energized, tired, spacious, or simply more aware of your body. Every person and every session is different.

Not at all. You don’t need to know how the techniques work or decide which ones should be used — that is part of what I bring to the session. I’ll explain anything you are curious about, and every approach remains optional. Reiki requires no particular faith or spiritual participation; your beliefs and preferences are always honored. At the same time, I’m always happy to share what I’ve learned. As I studied these different practices, each one gave me a new way to understand myself, listen to my body, and participate more consciously in my own healing. I believe that knowledge can help us grow in awareness and feel more connected to our own capacity for change. If there is something you would like to explore more deeply, I also create individualized and small-group learning experiences for existing clients, people interested in personal growth, and private groups of friends. These are not currently offered as a fixed menu of classes; instead, we can shape the experience around what interests you—whether that includes body awareness, practical self-care, breath, movement, Reiki, sound, or another area of my work. Please feel welcome to ask.
